There are jets skis, windsurfing boards, canoes, banana boats, small sailing boats / catamarans (Hobie or Laser) and sometimes also water-skis available for rent on several locations of the beach.
If you decide to rent a jet ski, take care of yourself (drive responsibly) as well as the machine. It might be expensive if it gets damaged, as an insurance is rarely included in the price. Some further information about water sports is found here
Beach Walking
Beach strolling is a totally free-of-charge activity and you'll get the tan, the exercise and you will look better if you do it regularly. 30-90 minutes per day and you will end up with a great shape. This is also a great opportunity to meet people from allover the world!
There are several PADI diving schools and dive shops in Chaweng.
They arrange daily dive trips to the waters outside Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Sail Rock (which is a granite pinnacle located between Koh Tao and Koh Phangan). Some diving schools and almost all travel agencies do also arrange snorkeling trips to Angthong National Marine Park (famous from the Leonardo DiCaprio movie "The Beach").
World Gym - Located next to the main Ring Road (north of Samui Bangkok Hospital).
Neptune Club - Located on Chaweng Beach Road, close to the Tops Supermarket.
Many of the larger hotels in Chaweng also has fitness rooms or small gymnasiums.
Martial Arts
Superpro Samui - Thai boxing, gym and Mixed Martial Arts. (MMA) Located close to Bangkok Samui Hospital.
Samui Taekwondo - A small Taekwon-do club (dojang) located on the Samui Ring Road, only 50 meters from the southern Chaweng Beach Road entrance.
Samui Rock Climbing
Located between Lamai and Chaweng. Climb their 25 meter high mountain wall (if you dare). Full equipment is available for rent and the instructors are highly qualified.
Samui Bungy Jump
Come and face your fears and do a jump in Chaweng's Bungy Jump Station. Located on Soi Reggae Pub, next to the Chaweng Lake.
Spas and Massage Clinics
A Thai Spa normally offer different kinds of massage and treatments such as oil massage, Thai traditional massage, foot massage, head massage, feet massage, aroma therapy, energy treatment, skin care etc.
There are small spas in almost all of the top hotels in Chaweng. Along the Beach Road there are also many massage shops and spa clinics.
Cinema
If you are tired of sunbathing and beach life we can recommend you to go to Tesco Lotus (see above) and visit the air conditioned movie theater. They show most of the current popular American movies plus almost all the new popular Thai movies.
Bowling and Karaoke
In the same building as the cinema you'll find Samui's only bowling alley; Major Bowling. The alley is open until late, every day. Beer and food is served at a reasonable price. They also has several karaoke rooms located along the sides of the bowling lanes.
Treasure Island Mini Golf
A nine hole miniature golf course, located behind the Islander Restaurant and close to Pizza Hut.
Thai Cooking Classes
Learn to cook Thai food at the Sitca cooking school (Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts). Complete three or more days and you will receive a certificate of achievement. Surprise your friends with Thai dishes in your home country. Further information is found here
Laem Din Market
Laem Din is Samui's largest outdoor market place. Here you will find all kind of food such as; fish, seafood, vegetables, meat, chicken and eggs. You'll even find clothes, shoes, some household products etc. here.
Samui Shooting Sport
If you are more into action filled adventures, why not shoot with real guns, riffles and automatic weapons in a save environment. This shooting range is located close to the Samui Ring Road, Macro and Tesco Lotus.
